ALDEN OPTICAL EXPANDS PHOENIX PROGRAM
Now Includes a Broader Array of Discontinued Lenses

ALDEN, New York, February 10, 2011 – Alden Optical, Inc, manufacturer of custom made-to-order soft and GP contact lenses, announced today that it has expanded the popular Phoenix Program to include a significant number of additional lenses recently discontinued by the major contact lens manufacturers. “Recent announcements of further discontinuations and holds on spherical lens brands have put practitioners in a difficult position. In many cases, we can help by replicating these lenses with our custom manufacturing and breadth of available materials,” commented Tom Shone, president, Alden Optical.

The Phoenix Program was developed in 2010 to provide practitioners with a simple solution when faced with discontinued soft sphere brands. Alden Optical offers lenses in polymacon, methafilcon, Benz 3X, and Benz 5X in any base curve/diameter combination and with spherical powers of +/- 30.00D. “The Phoenix Program is quite easy. Simply call Alden Optical or an authorized distributor with your patient’s Rx and current brand with specifications and we will custom manufacture a very close replacement to the original lens and ship it within 2 business days,” Shone said.
